Pride Propaganda

A bunch of parodies of soviet propaganda posters repurposed as pride posters. They are to protest Russia's ban on LGBT propoganda.
article // their website with more examples

To show support for gay rights in Russia, a group called Pride Propaganda, revises old Soviet Propaganda posters to proudly feature rainbow flags galore.

Retro visions of a communist utopia are converted into visions of a world free of homophobia.

Homosexuality was illegal in the Soviet Union and wasn't decriminalized in Russia until 1993.

Even still, a 2013 law bans the spreading of "propaganda" of non-traditional sexual relations among minors.

The posters, published anonymously to avoid backlash from hate groups, promote the hashtag #pridepropaganda as a show of support.

Brutal violence towards the LGBT community often goes unpunished.

With the Sochi Olympics underway, activists around the world are coming out in support of gay rights in Russia--even corporate advertisers like Chevrolet are showing the love.

See more Pride Propaganda here.

I believe they've literally taken the original poster and just coloured parts rainbow and changed the text, rather than imitating the style. They juxtapose the context of communist propoganda/homophobic russia with lgbt pride and a 'homophobia free utopia'. They are celebratory, and have proud figures taking up most of the space and waving rainbow flags, or wearing rainbows.
