Ihi Wehi examples

Ihi: Juxtaposition of washed dishes as if they're in a dish rack, with the dirty drain on the street. Simple and contrasting dark/light to get attention.
Wehi: creates shock/emotional response, because the plates are in a place they're not usually, and it's not immediately obvious what it's about until you read the caption.

Creative print ads target plastic pollution #Ad:
Ihi: Sushi but everything but the rice is substituted with plastic rubbish. Subversion + juxtaposition of food/rubbish.
Wehi: emotional, disgust at the idea of eating rubbish, also logical a bit (rubbish > ocean > fish > food, plus the statistics in the smaller text)

Never EVER speak to your children in a way that you wouldn't want to be spoken to. No matter how irritated you get or exhausted you are, keep you temper low, you'll thank yourself later.:
Ihi: a small crying child, with big eyes looking up at the corner of the image. A hand around his neck made from abusive language, written in dark/scrawled/angry looking handwriting. The child is in the lower part of the image, and even though the abuser isn't actually in the image, because he's looking up you assume they're taller and that makes the child look smaller therefore vunerable etc.
Wehi: the viewer feels sorry for the scared crying child, and want to protect him. Shows that emotional abuse can be just as bad as physical, especially to a growing child. Appeals to emotions.

"Smoking when you are pregnant" Health Preventive Campaign. I love it when people are clever with their work and especially for a worthwhile piece!:
Ihi: a piece of paper cut out with the cut piece hanging down. the top has a silhouette of a pregnant woman smoking, but then your eyes move down to the lower part and see the baby is also cut out and is smoking too. the way the image is flipped and contrast of the grey and white draws your eyes to this. The baby's umbilical cord has been swapped with smoke - you almost don't notice at first.
Wehi: shock at the baby smoking, an emotional response, because it's obviously bad for babies and could kill them. generally people want to protect babies and keep them safe.
Guerillaz - Don't drink & drive | #ads #marketing #creative #print #advertising #campaign < repinned by www.BlickeDeeler.de | Follow us on www.facebook.com/BlickeDeeler:
ihi: some squashed bottlecaps on a piece of paper, captioned 'don't drink and drive'. the bottlecaps don't look like much without the text, but the word-image relationship makes it obvious that they're eyes - looking kind of tired and drunk, and obviously not suited for driving
Wehi: it's simple but effective using a bit of pathos/logos. but it's not extremely striking or anything.

 :
Ihi: clenched fists in a bouquet like flowers. subversion and juxtaposition, a contrast of flowers which are nice and the violence. with the text, it makes it obvious it's about (domestic, probably), violence, and how apologising afterwards (something abusers often do, 'it won't happen again' etc) doesn't make it okay.
Wehi: the contrast of the fists and bouquet is powerful and creates an emotional response.
